When you want to lose weight it sometimes seems like everything is against you with exercise equipment like treadmills and exercise bikes often being seemingly designed for skinny people! If you want a treadmill to help you lose weight and are sick of searching for high weight capacity treadmills then look no further, I have a selection for you here.
Why you need a good treadmill
When we recently bought an exercise bike we found ourselves wondering why so many are aimed at light people and there is very little choice for those of a higher weight trying to lose weight. I have written about the selection we found to help you.
Regarding running machines, treadmills or walking machines, here are a variety starting with the lower weight capacity up to the highest weight capacity I could find readily available.
There are quite a few treadmills and running machines with a 120kg capacity or 18 stone 12 pounds so I have not listed them all as they are easier to find. The higher weights are where people often struggle. If you find any others I should add do let me know.
Why do they always show skinny people on them!? Frustrating isn’t it! I have tried to include the kg to stones conversions as I know everyone chooses to use different measurements.
Treadmill with 110kg capacity (17 stone 4lb)
110kg in stone is 17 stone 4lb (17.322 stones). There are quite a number of treadmills with that weight limit so I have just shared the best value one I found.
Nero Sports foldable motorized treadmill
This option again holds up to 110kg. It has a maximum speed of 10kmph (just over 6mph) and is both foldable and motorised so a great choice if you are short on space. The display shows all you would expect, time, distance, calories etc.
Treadmill with 120kg capacity
120kg in stones is 18 stone 12lb, this weight limit is also common in treadmills and running machines so here is just one I found and also an under the desk treadmill.
JLL Digital folding treadmill with a wide belt
This treadmill has a lot of good functions, it has Bluetooth, speakers and a 41cm belt width. Definitely, one with features I would recommend. With varying incline levels and speeds up to 18km/h (just over 11 mph), you can use this from starting out to almost a professional level!
Bluefin fitness TASK 2 in 1 folding under the desk treadmill
This one is quite unique as it doesn’t take much space up and has a variety of modes for your needs. You can connect a smartphone or tablet to the display or have it just flat on the floor if you prefer. Designed to be quiet it is great for home or office.
Treadmills with 135kg max user weight
If you are over 20 stone in weight then this might be the type of treadmill for you. 135kg is 21 stone 3lb and the following are good options for that capacity.
Branx Fitness Foldable ‘cardio pro’ touchscreen console treadmill
This treadmill has a 45cm wide running area and includes a free treadmill mat which is handy. With 12 programs and 17.5km/h (10.8mph) max speed it has everything you need to lose weight with adjustable incline too.
NordicTrack x9i incline trainer
This amazing treadmill includes a tablet holder and workout fans, with a Smart Bluetooth chest belt included, grip pulse heart rate monitors and a 7″ Touch Screen display you really are getting a professional style treadmill for your money!
Treadmills with around 150kg or 23 stone 8lb limit
Many people search for a treadmill max user weight 150kg in the UK and across the world. As I am based in the UK I only share options for heavy-duty treadmills I have found in the UK so if you are up to 23 stones and want a treadmill these should help you.
Cilyberya Folding Treadmill
Again an unknown name but good value for money (as always you get some kind of reassurance with Amazon) you get a foldable treadmill. It is manual and quite basic but if this is what you are looking for and fits your budget then give it some thought.
Treadmill 200kg capacity or 31st 6lb
If you are looking for a treadmill for a person up to 30 stone then it can be hard to find them but don’t worry I have done plenty of research for you. The following treadmill has a max user weight 200kg which is 31 stone 6lb and whilst it isn’t cheap it should help you buy a suitable running machine.
Sportstech F75 high-end treadmill
This is definitely not a budget machine but if you have the money it looks great. A high-end treadmill with wifi, USB, an android touch screen display and even hand pulse sensors is like something you would find at a gym! The running surface is 60cm wide and 158cm long so a large treadmill is perfect for the larger build.

Here are some quite funky women’s exercise and fitness clothing you might like to consider in plus sizes for you if needed too. You can start exercising whatever your size! The fitness and activewear clothing from Yours is great with sizes up to size 30!
